Occupy Oak Ivy...
What's an adventure? That all depends on how adventurous you actually are. When discussing summer plans with friends and associates, we'd often see a 'raised eyebrow' at the mention of having purchased a tent. Well, purchase a tent we did and we set it up at Oak Ivy for it's maiden outing. With comfort cots from REI, we actually had a very comfortable night sleep. Due to the mischief children who live in our neighborhood (and Dan's involvement with them), we had to keep our maiden sleep-out top secret and limit it to one night.Sunday, May 13, 2012
New Beginnings
Dan has been very patient, time passes and April finally arrived. My last day in office was the 19th April after which we promptly departed on vacation with our vacation buddies, Chris and Sue. Off to a series of fun filled daze in Las Vegas, Utah and Arizona.
We began the trip with a couple of nights in Vegas. Sue and I hit it big on the penny slots, winning $12.03 and walking away with a net gain of $8.00, not bad... Walked through many of the major casinos and hotel lobbies and went to a show at the Wynn Theater, Le Reve (The Dream). The performance was fabulous, recommend to anyone who's in Vegas with a free evening on their hands.
Then, off to St. George, Utah for a little golf and some hiking in Zion National Park. First the golf. With such low humidity and a new ball, anyone can improve their driving game. Beautiful courses and happy golfers.
Zion National Park is as beautiful as they say it is. The pictures attached don't begin to capture the natural beauty of the environment but we do try anyway.
From St. George, we returned to Las Vegas via "The Valley of Fire" which I believe is in north western Arizona. Mother Nature is amazing in her artwork.
Sadly, Chris & Sue had to return home and we were left to continue on alone. Off to Hoover Dam,
Following Hoover Dam, we headed to the largest ditch in the US, Grand Canyon. Once again, Mother Nature has done some outstanding work.
Thanks for taking the time to view our blog...
